Day 02 - Pulasthi, Intercity Train ride

Be lucky enough to take the new railway ride via "Pulathisi" the intercity train ride to Polonnaruwa. The ride is to the 2nd grandeur kingdom of Sri Lanka where still the ancient glory reflects.
The prosperous period in the irrigation industry and agriculture of Sri Lanka is witnessed during the kingdom of Polonnaruwa. Beyond the traditional concept of tank, a mix of six Parakrama Samudraya Reservoirs built on a marine concept is a best of the exemplary. The present Polonnaruwa’s land area is 3,293 km⊃2; and 227km distant from Colombo.

Day 03 - Cycling tour through ancient ruins

Polonnaruwa

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka's second kingdom holding cultural treasure. The royal capital in the North Central is a UNESCO world heritage site too. Royal Palace of King Parakramabahu, Council Chamber of King Nissankamalla, Potgul Vehera Statue, Gal Viharaya, The Sacred Quadrangle, Medirigiriya Watadageya, Thivanka Image House, Nelum Pokuna (Lotus Pond), Alahana Pirivena, Lankathilaka Image House, Baddasima Prasada, Ancient Hospital are just few monuments in Polonnaruwa and much more collection exploration is a better journey through cycling. Not only monuments but also around tanks en-route is just a moment of time back to kings.

Day 04 - Excursion to Sigiriya | Pidurangala

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the royal palace is situated in the core of the island between the towns of Dambulla and Habarana on a gigantic rock plateau-shaped from magma of a wiped-out spring of gushing lava, is 200 meters higher than the encompassing wildernesses. Its view dumbfounds the guests with an excellent combination of nature and human creativity. The complex incorporates remainders of a demolished royal residence, encompassed by a broad system of fortresses, gardens, lakes, alleys, canals, and fountains. The encompassing regions of Sigiriya were repressed for several thousand years.

Day 06 - First Kingdom of Sri Lanka

Anuradhapura, the pride of a civilization, first organized capital city of ancient Sri Lanka as well as one of the five largest cities of its time in South Asia. Anuradhapura city has a multitudinous count of historical remaining both well preserved and ruins which are worthy and luckily to watch for. That significant historical incident happened in Mihintale which is one of the sixteen sacred sites in Sri Lanka according to Buddhism and can be known to the cradle of Buddhist civilization in Sri Lanka. Mihintale holds immense importance in culture, history as well as archaeology. The stupa or Dagoba, the rock and caves structures have compacted the Mihintale site. Enchanted environmentally, spiritually and famed from the 307 BC.

Day 07 - Colombo Train

At each train station in transit, the train lodges get loaded up with sellers hustling treats like newly cut pineapple and mango with cinnamon, corn with salty spread, rice and curry, bean stew wade, and crispy papadums. Yummy!!

Day 08 - Story of Colombo

Day 09 - Beach by Train

The Beruwala shoreline is a flawless of brilliant golden sand, surrounded by palm grows spread along the beach front stretch. Day 10 - Excursion to Galle & Sea Turtles

Since the sixteenth century through Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial era the city was molded and at our present occasion is an archaeological reserve as well as a living world heritage site.  Habaraduwa Turtle Hatchery is a NGO admired by the nature lovers. In conserving turtles and other marine species, it was started in 1986. Since then they take care of new born turtles. The baby turtles must be released to the sea at the heel of 4 days. Therefore, the tourists receive the rare chance of releasing them. Additionally, the hitchery conserve injured turtles. A nearby small sand climb conserve eggs with labeling date and number of eggs. The venue is a wonderful work towards saving the nature assets as since it started over 500,000 sea turtles have released to the ocean.
